There are lots of different ways to describe intuition. In my research, I’ve discovered over one-hundred ways people have found to classify it. While it can be helpful to explore the many pieces of the puzzle on the psychic frontier, it’s important not to get caught up in details and semantics. What helped me most when I began studying intuition and how I could best utilize it was approaching it as all information that comes in beyond the five physical senses. Each one of the physical senses has a psychic or metaphysical counterpart. We can see, hear, smell, taste and feel things that no one else experiences at the time we experience them. We can know things beyond the level of reasoning. I’ll address different types of intuition in future posts, but for now tune into the information you receive beyond the physical realm.
If you think you’re not psychic, reflect back on times you received information in some capacity internally, known only to you, that helped you when you took action upon that information. When you don’t know why, but you feel a pull to stop at a green light and then do so, then see a car go through the intersection that would have hit you had you not stopped, you’ve made a successful connection with your intuition. When I was in college, I received a strong negative feeling about another student and knew I had to stay away from him. Whenever I saw him, I went to the opposite side of the building. A few years later I learned this student had pulled a gun on students in another class and the only thing that stopped total tragedy was the fact that the gun jammed. Always trust your intuition.
Intuition guides us in all aspects of our lives. We just need to pay attention to it and take appropriate action. With all of the distractions provided in society, we can sometimes let our wants, needs and emotions get in the way of our inner guidance system. During these times, it sometimes helps to get a psychic reading which provides a second opinion concerning the impressions we receive when we feel too close to the situation we need to resolve. Even psychics get psychic readings. When I get a reading, it inspires me by opening up new ideas for me and expands upon what my intuition has already told me.
Before we can successfully receive and utilize the wealth of guidance we receive with our intuition, we must set aside the outside world. Not enough emphasis is put on this in society. Before I ask questions of my intuition, I like to listen for a short time to classical music, Tibetan bowls or crystal bowls. Make it a habit to tune into your intuition; work with it and see how your life begins to change for the better.
