One expectation I wanted to hang on to for a while was regarding insights into the future. As much as I sometimes want future predictions in readings to play out for me, I know there’s no guarantee that they will. No one can predict with 100% certainty what will happen in the future. At any given time, we can all see various aspects of the future as we glimpse at life in that precise moment. However, the free will factor then comes into play. We all have free will to choose our thoughts, words and deeds in every moment. That’s the source of our individual power and potential in life. With free will, our reality is malleable. It provides us more power than we can imagine. We only have to recognize it and utilize it. Since each of us has free will, one thought or action taken by someone out of the range of possibilities we saw in that glimpse of the future can change the outcomes of the impressions we received.
Yet a lot of future predictions do come to pass in the physical realm. Why is this? As a species, humans are slow to change. With few exceptions, we like our habits, no matter how bad or unhealthy they may be and we often stick to patterns that are common to us, the path of least resistance. Yet we have the free will to change these habits and patterns any time we want to change them. We need to remember, though, that we’re the captain of our own ship. Ourselves. No one else. If we want someone else to change, we could be in for a long wait and wasting precious time. If not much has changed since that moment in which future potentials were revealed, it’s still possible that they could come to pass. Because of this tendency to resist change, information that’s revealed about the future can provide assistance in making choices and taking actions to help create beneficial opportunities and bring about desired aspects into our lives.
On the other side of that expectations dichotomy, there are some things one should reasonably expect in every psychic reading. Confidentiality should always be maintained. Your intuitive reading is between you and the psychic reader. No one else. Your reader should also respect your free will and not tell you things you “should” or “must” do. Intuitive information honestly conveyed with any other guidance offered helps the individual obtaining the reading utilize what was revealed in the reading with his or her discernment and own intuition and then make whatever decisions and actions he or she deems appropriate.
Expect surprises. They occur in psychic readings just like in the ordinary course of your day. Often a situation or message will be revealed that was not at the forefront of the your mind, but for some reason it was revealed to the psychic for you to consider. When this happens, it can sometimes catch one off guard, especially if some expectations came into play. For this reason, I’ve always recorded my readings in some way, via verbal recording or note taking. I recommend everyone do this to get the most value out of a psychic reading. I’ve received more surprises when I listened to the recording again because my mind remembered a particular issue one way, but the recording set me straight on what was actually revealed and helped me see on what topics would be beneficial for me to focus.
Another reasonable expectation in psychic readings is the encouragement of self-examination. Life is a process, a wonderful journey that expands in exciting ways when we embrace it. If someone wants only to be told what he or she wants to hear—and there are plenty of people out there who will take your money and provide that service—will that help one move forward in life? We need to take responsibility for our lives on an individual basis and paying someone to tell you what you want to hear is not going to facilitate that. The best psychic readers out there provide honest, professional intuitive reading sessions, not fortunetelling. If you want to hear only what you want to hear—like knowing exactly how many sales you’ll make by a certain date or whether you’ll reconcile a relationship that is not in your best interest—please wait to get a reading when you’re open to whatever information you may receive.
